Quick Start Guide
1. Open the Switcher Panel
Press and hold ⌥ + Tab (Option + Tab) to bring up the centered AbcTab switcher panel. You can also change the trigger shortcut to ⌃ + Tab (Control + Tab) in Settings.
2. Jump by First Letter
While holding the modifier key (⌥ or ⌃), press the letter shown on any app badge. AbcTab matches both English initials and Chinese Pinyin initials automatically.
3. Release to Activate
Release the ⌥ (or ⌃) modifier key—or press Return / Space—to switch to the selected app immediately. Press Esc at any time to dismiss the panel.
4. Customize Preferences
Click the ⌥ icon in the macOS menu bar (or the ⚙️ gear button in the bottom-right corner of the switcher panel) to adjust the shortcut, panel & icon scale (70%–125%), language, and Launch at Login.

Q1: Does AbcTab require Accessibility or special system permissions?
No. The Mac App Store edition of AbcTab runs 100% inside the standard macOS App Sandbox using native system hotkey APIs. No Accessibility or Screen Recording permissions are required.
Q2: How do I switch between multiple apps that share the same first letter?
Keep holding the modifier key (⌥ or ⌃) and tap the same letter key repeatedly to cycle through all matching applications in Most-Recently-Used (MRU) order.
Q3: How do I reopen Settings if I hid the menu bar icon?
If you enabled "Hide menu bar icon", you can open Settings at any time by: (1) pressing ⌥ + Tab and clicking the ⚙️ gear icon in the bottom-right corner of the panel, or (2) launching AbcTab again from Applications or Spotlight.

1. Zero Data Collection (Data Not Collected)
AbcTab is a 100% offline local utility. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data, device identifiers, usage analytics, crash reports, or application lists. AbcTab contains no third-party analytics SDKs, no advertising frameworks, and makes no network requests.
2. Local Processing & Storage Only
AbcTab reads the names and icons of currently running regular applications solely to render the switcher panel on your screen in real time. Your preferences (shortcut choice, panel scale, language, and MRU app order) are stored locally in your Mac sandbox UserDefaults container.
3. Support Communications
If you choose to email us at hi@solocraft.app for support, we only use your email address and message content to reply and resolve your inquiry. We never sell or share your contact information.
